The routes between these islands are full of dangers man-eating birds, ravaging pirates, vast fog-banks, and crackling thunderstorms can all end a journey with disaster. In Celestia players take turns to captain an airship which travels on a fantastical voyage between floating islands. The box contains a simple but elegant cardboard steampunk airship, as well as pawns, inventory and loot cards, unique “event” dice and the rule book. It plays in around 30 minutes and is recommended for ages eight and above. Players:2-6 Play time: 30 mins Age: 8+Ĭelestia is a light, semi co-operative, push-your-luck card game for two to six players. It looks wonderful on the table and comes with a three dimensional boat to place all the players pieces in. Celestia is a whimsical, family weight push your luck game with elements of hand management. The game is a race, and the first to 50 points worth of treasure wins. And you may want it to fail if you have jumped off too early and your opponents are headed to islands filled with high value treasures. Special cards allow you to make the journey easier, or even harder if you want it to fail. If the captain does have the right cards, the ship flies onwards and the next player gets to be captain, if they don’t, the ship plummets from the sky taking everybody down with it.
Everybody else has to decide whether they think the current captain has the required cards to push-on and overcome these obsticles, or abandon ship and take a treasure card from the current island. Each player takes a turn to be the captain and must roll the dice to see what hazards the ship will encounter. In a game of Celestia each player has a hand of cards which helps them overcome one of the four hazards found in the skies. To the skies in our rickety craft! Celestia has a group of adventurers pushing their luck as they try to navigate treacherous skies between floating islands in search of treasures and riches.
